What is CourseNotes?
CourseNotes is a database-driven tool that easily integrates with instructor’s existing web pages. Through secured login authentication, instructors can administer their biographical and contact information, as well as course materials, without extensive technical knowledge.
What is the difference between CourseNotes and BlackBoard?
CourseNotes is developed in-house by the college web team. By no means does CourseNotes fully replicate the breadth of features of commercial systems such as BlackBoard; however, it is highly effective in meeting the basic course management requirements of the College of Pharmacy’s distance-education program.
Features of CourseNotes
Features include administering on-demand videos, accessing course materials in a variety of formats (Web pages, PDF, and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel) via the Internet, and accommodating electronic discussion forums. Instructors are not limited to the number of CourseNotes features used or reference materials maintained on their sites. Instructors can employ optional password protection to limit student access both to their sites and to specific content.
